About Deanne
Hello! I am Deanne Apostolou - a tertiary trained medical herbalist and iridologist - and I would love to help you.
I have over 24 years' clinical experience treating men, women and children of all ages, with a range of health conditions, from my practice in Newcastle.
I am passionate about helping people realise their health goals and guiding them to be the best version of themselves possible.
I have helped hundreds of patients naturally and safely manage conditions such as stress, anxiety, digestive issues, chronic health complaints and autoimmune conditions.
My qualifications in evidence-based complementary medicine
I gained my Diploma of Medical Herbalism studying with Nancy Evelyn at the Newcastle College of Herbal Medicine.
I also recently completed a Graduate Certificate in Evidence-Based Complementary Medicine, and a Bachelor of Medicines Management with Professional Honours in Complementary Medicine through the University of Tasmania.
I am committed to ongoing professional learning and I am a member of the Australian Traditional Medicine Society and of the Naturopaths and Herbalists Association of Australia. So you can be sure of the most up-to-date, professional and ethical care.
Sharing the natural healing traditions and the wisdom passed down from our elders
As I want to share this wonderful wisdom that has been passed down to us through the generations, I also have a passion for teaching. I have written subject content, lectured and supervised clinical practice at the Academy of Complementary Health in Newcastle for five years. I am currently writing course content for Switch on Health.
When I’m not reading research papers and writing about Herbal Medicine, I enjoy swimming in Newcastle and Lake Macquarie's beautiful beaches, walking my four-legged baby and cooking tasty, nutritious meals for my family.
I believe a natural treatment approach can help you to achieve a greater sense of well-being.
